For my final piece, I want to design something that can solve certain problems. Among the responses I came up with for the three prompts, I chose to develop the model which focuses on the problem of desertification. What I want to make is a utopia on the desert that helps people to solve the problem of living on desert. We know that human being, most of the animals and plants cannot live on the base of desert. Therefore, I came up with the idea of rising the land above desert for people to live and plant. The materials I used for this model is mostly cardboard, and the color is painted by oil pen. I never did professional architecture models before. Thus, I found it interesting to build from a 2D draft to a 3D model.
